Highlights of this year for us have included visits from family members [...] We joined them for a happy evening and a pub lunch the following day. Partly as a result of Covid, we hadn't seen our grandsons for at least five years. [...] What a year it has been ! Covid refused to go away. The Queen's platinum jubilee gave us all a short shaft of light as we celebrated seventy glorious years of service to nation and commonwealth, followed all too quickly by our late Queen's sudden death.
